In 1949, when Claude joined the team, the brand was ready to conquer the world. The Taittingers, particularly Claude, adopted the roles of “sellers of happiness” around the world, starting in the United States with Rudy Kopf and his company, Kobrand, in 1951. When François died in an accident in 1960, Claude presided at the helm of the house, taking charge of its future and success. In 1967, he created the Pierre Taittinger Culinary Price, as a tribute to his father.
In 1983, he launched the Taittinger Collection which now gathers signatures from the most famous contemporary artists of our time.He retired in 2006 when his nephew Pierre-Emmanuel bought back the Champagne House.
